Peli RALS 9480 9490 9440 DC Vehicle Charger Cord
Peli 9447 DC Vehicle Charger Cord — Field Power for RALS 9440, 9480 & 9490
Mains power is not always where you need it. The Peli™ 9447 DC Vehicle Charger Cord lets you keep a Peli Remote Area Lighting System topped up straight from a vehicle's 12 V or 24 V outlet — no generator, no wall socket, no waiting until the truck is back at base. Plug it into the auxiliary DC port of a service van, patrol car, fire appliance or utility truck, and the RALS keeps charging while the vehicle is on the move or parked between callouts.
Why a Vehicle Charger Earns Its Place in the Kit
A remote area lighting system is only as useful as its next charge. Crews that operate away from fixed depots — on the road, at a scene, or between sites — rarely have convenient access to an AC mains socket when the light needs topping up. The 9447 removes that dependency: as long as the vehicle is running or the battery has charge to spare, the RALS unit keeps drawing power in the background, ready for the next deployment without a special trip back to the workshop.
Where It Earns Its Keep
- Emergency response — ambulances, fire engines and rescue vehicles that need scene lighting charged and ready between calls
- Highways and utility maintenance — service vans running overnight roadworks, breakdown recovery or line repairs
- Broadcast and film units — production vehicles keeping RALS units topped up between night shoots
- Search and rescue — 4x4s and support vehicles operating far from mains power
- Security and event patrol — vehicles that need to hand over a charged light at every shift change
Part of the RALS Charging Ecosystem
The 9447 cord sits alongside the standard AC mains chargers in the Peli RALS accessory range, giving operators a choice of charging method depending on where the light is being used. Keeping a vehicle-charging option in the kit means a RALS unit is never entirely dependent on finding a socket — in line with the wider Peli approach of building equipment that works on the terms of the job, not the terms of the nearest wall outlet.
What to Expect From Vehicle Charging
Vehicle DC charging is a supplementary path, not a replacement for the standard AC charger. Expect roughly 10–14 hours to bring a RALS unit to a full charge from a 12/24 V vehicle outlet — noticeably slower than mains charging, so it suits background top-ups on the move rather than a fast turnaround between shifts. Whenever mains power is available, use the AC charger for the 9430/9435 systems for a quicker full recharge.
Key Features
- Compatible with Peli RALS 9440, 9480 and 9490 lighting systems
- Runs from both 12 V and 24 V vehicle DC outlets
- Direct plug-in connection — no extra adapters needed
- Rugged cable and connectors built for vehicle and field use
- Keeps lighting systems charging on the move, between callouts or overnight
