Constructed from high-impact polypropylene copolymer resin — the same material used in Peli's full-size transport cases — the 1120 is watertight, crushproof, and dustproof. A precision O-Ring seal runs the full perimeter of the lid, creating an airtight barrier against moisture, fine dust, and grit. The double-throw latch system locks the lid securely and resists accidental opening from drops, compression, or rough handling.

The built-in automatic pressure equalization valve earns its keep quickly: it equalises pressure after altitude or temperature changes so the lid opens with one hand instead of a fight.
